Day of drama for Steve at Townsville

Jim Beam Racing’s Steve Johnson was hoping to pick up the pieces of Saturday’s 200km race by qualifying once again in the Top 10 for the second race of the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland today. Johnson had recovered very well from 21st after being spun by team mate James Courtney on lap 2 of the first race.

Jim Beam Racing’s Steve Johnson survived a tough opening race at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland today. A gutsy comeback drive after a lap 2 spin saw the # 17 Falcon claw back 10 spots to finish just outside the Top 10 in eleventh place.

Championship Points the Focus for Steve in Race 1 at Darwin

Jim Beam Racing’s Steve Johnson soldiered on to an 18th place finish today in the opening race of the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin today. A set up direction to both Steve’s and James Courtney’s cars proved to be a change for the worse and both drivers struggled with balance and locking inside front left tyres in the 31C heat.
